Thanks a Bunch

Happy Saturday everyone! And we all know by now what that means. Yep, another challenge from Penny Black. This week's challenge is .....

Ready, Steady, Cook!

One circle, two papers and three flowers.

We have two fabby prizes up for grabs....

15% lifetime discount voucher from PB Stamps.
and
4 rolls of ribbon(your choice) from Fantastic Ribbons.

So get out of that kitchen and rattle those stamps and inks!

For my card I have used the PB stamp 'frolic'. Y'know the mice, the hedgies, the bears they are all really cute but it's the cats that always make me smile. Just look at this one, fat, funny and a friendly face (a bit like my DH....he's gonna kill me). The papers are by BoBunny and what do you think of my little flowers? Made them myself you know.

So, looking for more inspiration? Then check here to see what my teamies have cooked up this week.

This card also fits these fabby challenges...

Charisma....something with a tail

Paperplay....anything goes

Peace, Love, Dreams

Something a little bit different. Still not sure about it. I saw this clear stamp set 'Indian Dreams' in my (fairly) local crafty shop. My loyalty card was full so I had £25 reward to spend and was determined not to just buy 'more of the same'.

I wanted the images to really stand out so after stamping I heat embossed with some clear powder, haven't done that for ages. I then coloured with copics.

This fits the challenge over on Charisma....anything but square.

Sunday 25 July 2010

Baby

This little cutie was in the package that arrived the other day. He is from a Popcorn the Bear stamp set called Kids. I have coloured him with Prisma pencils and the papers are 'Eliza' by Making Memories.

This card fits three challenges....

Allsorts....baby/child

Simon Says....fabby sketch

Christmas Gift

Happy Saturday everyone, only 153 days to the festivities! So, if you send say 50 Christmas cards you will need to make one every 3 days. Or, you could do an 'all nighter' on 11th December. Which one are you....

Little Miss Organised or Last Minute.com

I try to be organised but invariably end up last minute!

But lookie here, this weeks Penny Black challenge will help you on your way.....

Christmas In July

And here are this weeks prizes....

From Stampers Supermarket...two fabulous stamps
and from
Valentines 13.7 roll of red
grosgrain ribbon...yum!

For my card I used a stamp from the T for Transparent set 'The Wonder'. I coloured with Prisma pencils and did a bit of 'wonky' stitching round the edges. Snowflakes and buttons finish the whole thing off.
Why not take yourself over here for some festive inspiration.

Bunting

I've been wanting to make a card with 'bunting' for a while now 'cos I know it's all the rage. Well, last night I finally got round to it. It's not quite how I imagined in my head but I'm quite pleased with it all the same.

I was trying for a beachy washed out sort of look and found these papers which fit the bill perfectly.

I stamped my Penny Black image 'high spirits' onto off white textured card and coloured with Prisma pencils. I then stamped the flower from the image 4 times, coloured and cut out to use as embellies. The papers are a double sided 12x12 sheet 'Boardwalk, Poolside' by Little Yellow Bicycle (and has the most gorgeous textured linen feel).

I am entering this card into the photo inspiration challenge over on Sweet Stampin'.

I'm off now to open a little package of contraband that arrived today!

Bugaboo Bear

Monsoon season has arrived in the West of Scotland, ah well, I guess that's what makes the grass so green. Couldn't even get outside to take a piccie of my latest creation.

A while back I was lucky enough to win some images from Bugaboo. This is the first time I have used this little cutie, a bear dressed as a fairy. Only in card world!

I coloured with Copics and the papers are by Denas Closet.

I am entering this card into 3 challenges....

Doggone It!

Yay, it's Sunday night and I don't have to think about going to work tomorrow 'cos it's a local Bank Holiday Weekend here, woohoo!

So we went to the pictures this afternoon. Saw Inception the new Leo de Cap film. Great action but really quite hard to follow, a dream within a dream within a dream. We took my Mum along, if she wasn't confused before, she is now!

Now, let me introduce you to Dexter, one of this months new releases over on the DigiStamp Boutique. How funny is he? I just love the look on his face. My papers are by Doodlebug and I coloured Dexter with Copics pens. I have to admit I have a love/hate relationship with my Copics. Sometimes it just doesn't work and other times I seem to get the blending thing right. This time I think I got it right!

I am entering this card into these 3 challenges....

Digital Tuesday....sketch

Dare U2 Digi....stitching

Stamp Something....go digital

....from our regular sponsor Butterfly Kisses.

I am entering my project into the challenge at Crafty Catz this week which also happens to be 'Anything but a Card'. Great minds think alike, eh?

Watching

No chance of nipping outside to get a good picture, it's blowing a gale and pouring down. Typical West of Scotland July weather, hope it's nicer where you are. Maybe it will brighten up later and I will replace this piccie.
(edited...although still a bit breezy I managed to get outside to take this one, a bit better I think)
Anyway, I found this digi image here at Sketching Stamper and couldn't resist. I have coloured the image with Prismacolour pencils and the paper is a 12x12 double sided sheet 'sweet
summertime, citrus circle' by Echo Park Paper. I rounded the corners and added a few punched out butterflies. A little bit of ribbon finishes the whole thing off.

This fits a whopping seven challenges....

Fairy Wishes

I just showed you what was on my workdesk, well, here is the finished article.

I used Tallulah from the DigiStamp Boutique and coloured with copics. She is much more glittery in real life, honest. I've had the little flowery heart kicking about my stash forever and now it has found its perfect home.

This little cutie fits 2 challenges...

Totally Papercrafts....one for the girlies

Bee Crafty....3D, add dimension

What's on my workdesk?

I think this is the first time I have joined in 'What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday'. So here it is, exactly as I found it when I got home from work tonight.

Late last night I was starting to put together bits and pieces for my next card. Image from the digistamp boutique and freebie papers from a mag.

Since I discovered blogland I don't buy nearly as many mags as I used to, so thanks blogland for saving me a small fortune (I wish...I spend it on stash instead!)

Monday 5 July 2010

Penny Black Saturday...Red, White and Blue

Happy Saturday everyone.

On the 4th of July 1776 America declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. In honour of this and to mark their special day the Penny Black Saturday Challenge is giving a nod to our American cousins. This week the challenge is.....

Red, White and Blue

We have 4, yep, that's right, 4 prizes up for grabs this week,
well yankee doodle my dandy!

A Penny Black stamp of your choice from our regular sponsor
Stampers Supermarket.

And, these 3 beauties....

Betsy Bluebell clear stamp set.

Easy Rider

Sweet Thing

....from our brand new sponsor Penny Black.

Fab or what!

So, for my card I used the PB stamp 'birthday balloons' coloured with inktense water colour pencils. The papers are by Doodlebug. This is the first time I have tried this cutting technique. I'm sure it has an 'official' crafty name but I don't know what that might be. Anyway, you cut round part of the image and use a nestie to cut the remainder. Quite effective, huh?

If you want to look like the cat that got the cream.....

....then spangle your banner and join in the fun!

For more patriotic inspiration take yourself off here to have a nosey
at some fabulous cards by the Penny Black DT.

Friday 2 July 2010

Beach Babe

Oh my, I can't believe we are now more than half way through the year. It will soon be time, dare I say it, to get the Christmas box out from the depths of the crafty cupboard and spend the next few months with a speck of glitter somewhere on my face!

Anyway, the first Friday of the month brings with it a new challenge over on Crafty Calendar. This month's challenge is.....

Summer Holidays
(added option of yellow)

For my card I have used Beach Lilly from the DigiStamp Boutique. I paper pieced her swimsuit and bow and coloured the remainder with copics. The paper is by Doodlebug and look I made buttons to match! Easy, you just get yourself some clear buttons, glue them to paper with glossy accents and trim.

Pop over here for some fab inspiration from the rest of the Crafty Calendar team.

This card also fits these 2 challenges....

Digi Tuesday.....summertime

Delightful Sketches....it's all about summer

Pop back tomorrow...it's Penny Black Saturday time!
