My new pens!

 Hello.
In my last post I shared a card I had coloured with my new Stabilo pens. Well, as promised, here is a bit of a close up of those very pens!

Every colour you could ever need including some very on trend neon colours.
They are water-based so that means I can do my very favourite technique and get a cool water-coloured look.
Just scribble the pen onto an acrylic block or, like I do, your glass work surface!
Wet your paintbrush with a little water, pick up the ink and skootch onto watercolour card.
Build up colour until you like what you see.
Easy, peasy!

Choose any or all of the following...

Colour Theme - blue, green or blue and green

..or any previous Papertake Sketch.
So loads to choose from there!

The flower stamps are from the 'twiggy florets' set by Paper Smooches. I coloured with my new pens (I know - hubby says 'is there no end' well, clearly not!). They are Stabilo pens, I will tell you more about them later in the week. The sentiment is from a little Hero Arts set.

Rain or Shine

Hello. Mostly rain! Hubby wants to know when we are moving to sunnier and warmer climes. Too much day time telly - A Place in the Sun, Escape to the Continent etc etc is giving him ideas!  I get homesick just going on holiday for a week so I think we are in Scotland to stay (unless we win the lottery and then I might think about it).

So todays card features stamps from the 'chance of rain' set by Mama Elephant. The background was diecut and inked using 'faded jeans' distress ink. I hardly ever do this, don't know why 'cos I really do like the effect. Oh dear, I'll never use up all those patterned papers now!

happy holidays

Hello. I have a very summery card to share today (although it's anything but summer here in the West of Scotland). The super cute image taking centre stage on his rubber ring is Chubby. He is part of a set called Summer Chubby...
You get two Chubby images and four sentiments and all on special offer at the mo'.

The papers I used are 'barefoot and bliss' by BoBunny. I've had them for ages so it feels good to use up some older stash! The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted and I know it's normally a Christmas sentiment but I used it here 'cos it fits.

So, are you looking for a bargain? The DigiStamp Boutique has reduced hundreds, yes, hundreds of their sweet images to just 99p. All can be found here in the special 99p section. Happy shopping!

thank you - Milly

Hello. Cuteness alert -  there are brand new images over at The DigiStamp Boutique. My card features the adorable Milly. Part of a set and on special offer at the mo'.

I coloured Milly using Copic marker pens and the 'embroidery hoop' was diecut using the hoop die by Neat & Tangled. The papers and matching sequins are 'life emporium' by Teresa Collins and the sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set 'scripty sayings'.

Friday 10 July 2015

hello, hello, hello

Today I had a play with a new stamp set and my Kuratake Gansai watercolour paints. I ended up making three little 'hello' cards. The stamps are 'miniature floral collection' by Clearly Besotted.
I heat embossed the image using white embossing powder and all the background pieces were cut using dies from My Favourite Things and Avery Elle.

I'm back...

....home. A lovely relaxing week away in the Lake District. This time to a dog friendly cottage so that Boyd could come along with us and be truly spoiled by everyone he met! The views from the cottage, as you can see from these pics, were truly superb. Anyway, that's all the holidays over for this year, awww. Best get planning next years!!
I had scheduled my last few blog posts and really enjoyed reading all the lovely comments while I was away, thank you. I will be catching up with you all soon.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - design team card

Hello. It's Tuesday!
Time for another Papertake Weekly Challenge.
And this week it's...

Anything Goes

We have a very generous prize from our sponsors -
(a £10 gift voucher)

So I have a change from my usual card - a milk carton! It was die cut using the Lawn Fawn milk carton die. The fence was cut using 'rolling hills' from My Favourite Things and the sheep is from a Clearly Besotted stamp set 'feeling sheepish'. This was fun to make and really easy and I'm sure you will be seeing more of these little cartons soon!
